How many peanuts are there in a jar of peanut butter?

It takes about 540 peanuts to make a 12-ounce jar of peanut butter, according to the National Peanut Board.

Peanut Butter was originally founded by a St. Louis doctor Mr. Straub in 1890 for elder patients as a substitute to meat for those who were not able to chew meat. Famous Dr. J H Kellogg, from the United States, called his version of peanut butter “Nut-Butter” in 1897 under US Patent 580,787.
